Welcome to our forum!
This forum is for students, proffesionals, professors and the public to get together and talk openly about the thing we care about the most....wildlife!
If you would like to join our discussions and other threads like those devoted to wildlife sightings, it is very simple. Click on the Registration button in the tool bar towards the upper part of the forum homepage. Once there, enter a valid e-mail address (that will be kept completly private) the name you will want to be known as and click the register button. A randomly generated password will be sent to your e-mail shortly. Occasionally, depending on the server you use, it may take longer (possibly an hour or two , but this is very rare! ), but if it does not arrive contact the webmaster and they will send you a password, which you can change later.
Once registered you can customize your membership in many different ways including the ability to post a picture in your profile of whatever you want to help bring character to your postings. The picture must have a web address associated with it and the best way to acquire this address is to right click on the picture and look in the properties section. Highlight and copy that address and go to the Profile section of the toolbar. There is a part of the profile that says I have my own pic, check the box next to this and paste the image address. There are many other custom features on this forum, and all the different buttons in the posting section do something unique. Play around with it and try it all out, you'll find something new everytime.
[glow=red,2,300]A few important rules:[/glow]
[glow=yellow,2,300]Please show respect and kindness...[/glow] This is the most important rule and disrespect or personal attacks will not be tolerated by any means. Occaisonally discussions may get heated, but please remain proffesional.
[glow=blue,2,300]No cussing or derogatory language is permitted...[/glow] Please keep language from extending itself into certain unnessecary forms. All are welcome here and offensive language is not permitted.
[glow=red,2,300]Please think carefully about things before you post directions to an animal sighting[/glow]Most animal sightings are harmless and we would all love to be able to get directions to see the "Lewis' Woodpecker over by the hospital", or what have you. But just remember some sightings/directions can be harmful, like posting directions to Peregrine Falcon nests (falconers routinely check the web for info on these sightings, in order to take eggs to incubate), Bald Eagle nests (a disturbed Bald Eagle nest has a great chance of failing), and many other animals that will require you to think before you post.
Other than that, this is a completley open forum and the point of it is for us to learn form one another and have fun doing it.
Check out the calendar too if your in need of something to do, and send a private message to me if you would like a wildlife related event put on it.
There is also an integrated e-mail system within this forum where members can send and reply to personel, private messages from one another. If you ever have a problem or concerns please send a forum e-mail to the moderator or an actual e-mail to the webmaster at Wildlife.Socieyt@nau.edu. Or ask your fellow members of the forum, but never, ever give out your personal log in information!
All right, lets talk about some wildlife!
