House Painting and a Hike in beautiful Hartwell Canyon
Imagine this combination. Join staff and volunteers at our Hartwell
Canyon Preserve near Sedona. First we'll paint the residence, and then
we'll enjoy a hike in the beautiful canyon.
Plan to join us on Saturday, April 11, 2009. Meet in Sedona at 8:15
a.m. We will carpool to the preserve. Upon arrival the staff will have
the tasks laid out ready for you to scrape, brush and paint the two
story residence. Some volunteers will need to work on ladders.
Once the house is refreshed, you will have the opportunity to hike on
this property that is closed to the public. The resident volunteer
caretakers and staff will show you the highlights of the area.
Both the work and the hike will require moderate exertion.
Bring your lunch and water. Wear paint clothes, sturdy shoes, hat,
sunscreen.
Staff will provide snacks, additional water, latex gloves, and the
supplies and equipment needed for the project including ladders, paint
brushes and tools, paint., etc.
To sign up, or for questions contact Kim Schonek in the Prescott office,
928-925-1124, kschonek@tnc.org <mailto:kschonek@tnc.org> , or Dorothy
Boone at 520-547-3437, dboone@tnc.org <mailto:dboone@tnc.org> . When
you call we will want to know if you prefer to work from the ground only
or if you can also work from a ladder.
Directions for carpooling:
We will meet at the Safeway parking lot, 2300 West Highway 89A in West
Sedona at 8:15 a.m.. The store is on the north side of Hwy 89A on a
corner so let's meet in the parking lot as close to the corner as
possible. We will return to the parking lot at approximately 4:30 - 5
p.m.
