Laila, Vito and I went for a much needed camping trip to West Clear Creek on Monday and camped out there at Bull Pen for a couple of nights. It was so nice out! The nights were a buit chilly, but the days were spectacular!
At our campsite we had a lot of American Robins, Gila Woodpeckers, Plumbeous Vireos, Lesser Goldfinch, Common Blackhawks, and a Zone-tailed Hawk up in the nearby creosote/canotia desert. Yellow warblers were abundent in the West Clear Creek wilderness area.
We also took a day trip to Verde Hotsprings, and while sitting in the springs, having a beer and throuoghly enjoying life, we had a Bald Eagle fly over, heard a Canyon Wren echoing off the cliffs and saw some Gambel's Quail too. There was Common Blackhawk near the campground too, and of course a ton of them along Fossil Creek during the drive to the Verde Hot Springs.
